About My Clients
Perhaps you find yourself repeating patterns in your life. This could be dating the same “type” of person over & over only to realize it’s a toxic combo. Or maybe you’ve revisited the same disagreements with your family. Or you might notice you frequently abandon your boundaries to people please, resulting in anxiety and frustration. During our time together, we can get curious about where these patterns first took root, & through compassionate self-reflection, break the cycle.
My Background and Approach
I'm excited to bring a unique and thoughtful perspective to the work we do. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 15+ years as a teaching artist, sharing improvisation & theater with ages 8 through 80 in communities across greater Philadelphia. It was here that I discovered the therapeutic power of telling one’s story in unconventional ways. This inspired my passion for experiential therapy. “There is a voice that doesn’t use words, listen.” When I first read this Rumi quote it hit me like a lightning bolt & has become the thesis for my approach as a therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Like many of my clients, trauma has also touched my life. Thus, I am also keenly aware of the bravery and patience it takes to approach this work. I have the deepest respect for your process and the pace that will feel safe for you. I believe that a trauma history does not have to be defined as a negative life sentence, but instead might be reframed as a teacher that has made you into the RESILIENT being you are today. Should you choose to work with me, I’ll gently invite us to get curious about the strengths that guided you on this journey and the ways PTG (post-traumatic GROWTH) can be part of your narrative.
