About My Clients
I work best with couples and adult family members who are ready to improve how they communicate, reconnect emotionally, and shift patterns that no longer serve their relationships. Couples I work with are often caught in repeating cycles—having the same arguments, struggling to feel heard, or experiencing distance despite caring deeply for one another. As a Chicana therapist and Army veteran, I also work well with individuals and families who value a culturally responsive approach.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with couples and adult family relationships who are seeking deeper connection, improved communication, and meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating conflict, life transitions, or long-standing patterns that no longer serve you, I provide a structured and supportive space to help you move forward together. My approach is trauma-informed and relational, focusing on how past experiences, attachment styles, and unspoken dynamics show up in your current relationships. I help partners and family members slow down, understand one another more clearly, and develop healthier ways of communicating and reconnecting. As a proud Chicana and Army veteran, I bring a culturally responsive and grounded perspective into the therapy space. I honor the complexity of family systems, cultural values, and generational patterns that can both strengthen and challenge our relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is a space for both healing and truth-telling—a place to better understand ourselves, our relationships, and the experiences that have shaped us. As a Chicana therapist and Army veteran, I bring a deep respect for resilience, culture, and the complexity of lived experience. I believe our struggles don’t exist in isolation. Many of the challenges individuals, couples, and families face—such as conflict, disconnection, or communication issues—are shaped by generational patterns, cultural expectations, and larger social systems. A trauma-informed and socially aware approach acknowledges these layers rather than placing blame. As a Chicana, I hold the importance of culture, identity, and family with care. Therapy can be a space to explore both the love and complexity within family systems—creating healthier boundaries, communication, and emotional safety while honoring connection.
