I enjoy helping people find calm in the anxious storm. I have worked for 15+ years with people with anxiety and find it extremely rewarding to see them tackle the things they have previously found overwhelming.

I enjoy helping those who are experiencing one of life's many transitions - whether it be the ending of a relationship, job changes, or dealing with aging parents. Life brings us many situations in which we need an objective outlet to help us see through to the other side.

When a pervasive sadness enters a person's life, it can feel defeating. With quality therapy, a person can begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel and find joy in life once again.

Once symptoms have become more manageable, I find it helpful to try to figure out what the underlying causes may be. While there may be a stereotype of what psychodynamic work might look like, I see it as an opportunity to identify how early life informs our present life in a realistic, useful way.

I find that looking at how our mood, thoughts, and behavior impact one another helps with immediate symptom reduction. When things are feeling very overwhelming, setting goals and seeing achievable results gives the momentum needed to work on longer-term changes.

I believe that none of us exists in a vacuum. Therefore, none of our struggles exists on its own either. I enjoy helping others see how systems help create and reinforce patterns, as well as what we can do to change those dynamics. I have been trained in both Bowenian and structural family therapy and have used both extensively in my work.
