About My Clients
I specialize in counseling for diverse college students, student-athletes, and working professionals in healthcare, business, engineering and scientific disciplines. I collaborate with clients to help resolve anxiety, life transitions, work-life concerns, multicultural identity integration, family or relationship conflict, bereavement, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
Taking a person-centered approach that considers unique multicultural identities, I am passionate about helping clients realize their unidentified strengths and resiliency, so they can maximize their compassion at work, in their relationships, and in themselves. My approach is informed by experience working with young adults, students and professionals spanning inpatient, community counseling, employee assistance (EAP), university counseling (CAPS), and D1 athletics settings. I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine GSEP, an MBA from Babson College, and completed advanced training in Sport Psychology, CBT, ACT, and IPSRT modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the therapeutic space co-created by counselor and client is a safe, private place to say what needs to be said and feel what needs to be felt when clients are otherwise are unable to, so they can become their authentic selves in the world. Therapy provides an opportunity for ventilation and processing, but also challenge, learning and growth. By helping clients gain insight about thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that keep them stuck in behavior patterns that no longer serve them, they can develop their own toolkit to accept and manage normal human emotions, communicate and set boundaries in healthy ways, and take values-driven actions toward the life they want for themselves.
