About My Clients
As your therapist, I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in social work, I have a solid educational foundation. My work with the active-duty military, specifically combat-related PTSD, has equipped me with a deep understanding of trauma's impact. I specialize in working with adults addressing concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationships. Together we'll explore evidence-based techniques tailored to your needs, fostering healing, growth, and well-being.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in the behavioral health field since 1999, and began practicing integrated care around 2013. I am certified in DBT, and have a strong background in CBT and Mindfulness based approaches. I am trauma focused and am trauma informed when I practice. I will provide my patients with psycho education materials and Evidence based practices that include techniques and interventions that will help address the presenting problem. I have been told I am easy to talk to and have a warm personality. One of the nurses I used to work with in a primary care practice would tell her patients she wanted them to meet her "warm blanket" which was me. I am happy to have that type of affect on people where they feel comforted.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have worked with individuals for many years that have experienced trauma and had PTSD, and I believe that most of us experience at one time or another a "broken spirit" which I do believe creates a huge internal disconnect and in the long run creates distress. I enjoy helping people learn how to re-create Heart-Brain Coherence, which we all had when we were born and at some point, the stress of the human experience creates disconnect. Getting back to nature and our natural state to find joy, happiness and satisfaction in life is something I enjoy helping people attain.
