About My Clients
I love working with clients who are introspective and open to trying something different. I have experience treating a range of concerns including anxiety, OCD, depression, identity development, LGBTQIA2S+ issues (particularly TGNC youth and adults), women’s/parenting issues, religious trauma and grief.
My Background and Approach
I strive to foster a safe, affirming and supportive therapeutic environment. I use an integrative approach that is strengths-based and person-centered. My work is guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and multicultural, feminist, queer, and existential theories. I believe deeply that you are the expert of your own experience. In our work together, I hope to help you identify values that anchor you, observe when your thoughts and feelings are driving the bus to a place that's not working for you, and help you pause, pivot, and try something new. I am deeply curious and find everyone I talk to to be endlessly fascinating and extraordinary. Thank you for being willing to share your story with me as it continues to unfold.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a cisgender woman, therapist, cat and human parent, girl scout leader, school volunteer, social justice advocate, life-long learner, crafter, and a wondrously flawed human being who finds this work incredibly meaningful. I believe in self-determination, social justice, and breaking down the constructs of gender, race and class both professionally and personally. I also acknowledge that I am constantly learning and growing and appreciate a call-out when necessary.
