About My Clients
What if both mental wellness and mental distress are experiences along a spectrum and this is part of what makes us human? You are not alone as we all travel these experiences that make up our mental health, both in times of flourishing and times of challenge. Reasons for seeking support vary, although daily distress can create feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, depletion, or at times a sense of shut down. I help my clients understand and work with their nervous systems and brain-body connection.
My Background and Approach
I offer approaches to therapy that are dynamic and relational in nature. Honoring that our brain-body systems are wired for social connection. This includes integrating a variety of modalities and perspectives, including bringing awareness to the unconscious daily activity of our autonomic nervous system and how these bodily states impact our thoughts and emotions. I incorporate IFS parts work as a unique approach to becoming acquainted with and understanding our internal world. Our work together will be collaborative, experiential, and adaptable based on your needs. I hold a graduate degree in social work from San Diego State University with an emphasis on direct clinical practice. I have been in practice for over 10 years and in addition to my formal education I have completed several courses/certifications some of which include trauma counseling, internal family systems, grief work, and the theory and practice of embodiment.
