Anxiety is often a signal, the mind and body registering something not yet understood. I work with the roots beneath the worry and rumination: early attachment, unspoken conflict, and fears that live in the body before they reach words. Rather than only teaching techniques to manage symptoms, we make sense of what the anxiety is responding to, so it loses some of its grip. I bring psychodynamic depth and attention to the nervous system, working bilingually in English and Spanish.

I understand depression less as a checklist of symptoms than as something with meaning, often tied to loss, grief that hasn't found words, anger turned inward, or a life that has drifted from what matters. Rather than only managing symptoms, we work to understand where the heaviness comes from and what it may be protecting. I draw on psychodynamic and attachment-based work and keep culture, migration, and identity in view, in English y en español. This is patient, depth-oriented care.

Attachment is close to the center of how I work. Our earliest bonds shape how we love, trust, and protect ourselves now, often outside awareness. I'm trained in coding the Adult Attachment Interview, and I listen for how early relationships echo in present patterns and in the therapeutic relationship itself. Together we make those patterns thinkable, so they can loosen and change. This is depth-oriented work with adults, couples, and families, in English y en español.

My contemplative and mindfulness grounding comes from Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, an MBSR teacher-training intensive I began but did not complete, years in contemplative traditions (Goenka Vipassana retreats, Shambhala Mountain Center Datun, Windhorse dialogic team leading, hospice). I bring mindful attention to the body, breath, and present moment into psychodynamic work, especially with anxiety and rumination: a sensibility more than a protocol.

Psychoanalytic work is the center of my practice. I'm a candidate in adult and child & adolescent analytic training at IPTAR, with earlier training through the Seattle and Northwest Psychoanalytic Societies. I work with the unconscious, with early, pre-verbal experience, and with what emerges between us in the room, drawing on Bion's reverie: receiving what can't yet be said and helping it become thinkable. This is depth-oriented, open-ended work for people curious about their inner lives.

Psychodynamic therapy brings the depth of analytic thinking to weekly, face-to-face work. I attend to how early relationships and attachment shape present patterns, to the meaning beneath symptoms, and to the therapeutic relationship itself as a place where change happens. I'm trained in coding the Adult Attachment Interview, and I keep culture, language, and personal history at the center. The pace is unhurried . We will follow what matters as it surfaces rather than forcing quick fixes.
