I love to walk alongside individuals by helping them become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and actions; take greater responsibility for themselves; resolve unfinished business prudently; establish clear direction to their lives; and experience freedom and healing. My passion is to assist individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, grief, self-esteem, trauma-related conditions, premarital and marital counseling, relationship difficulties, spiritual matters, and more.
My Background and Approach
I earned my MA in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS. In my career, I have served as counselor and care coach for many years years. I strive to provide a safe and trusting environment for individuals to experience acceptance, understanding, compassion, empathy, and respect. My style is empathic, somewhat directive, and eclectic (a flexible, customized approach to psychotherapy where I draw from multiple theoretical orientations—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Couples Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy—to create a unique, client-centered treatment plan). I enjoy assisting individuals from all walks of life to become a better version of themselves and experience a better quality of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It’s okay not to be okay. You're not alone in your journey towards mental healing. Mental healing is a journey, not an event. Yes, you can change your way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Everything is possible. You just need empathy, time, and someone willing to walk alongside you.
