My approach to therapy follows three fundamental tenets: evidence-based treatment, validation of human experience, and skill adaptiveness. Evidence-based treatment: I adhere to using treatments rooted in peer-reviewed science to provide the most appropriate treatment to meet your needs. I want to ensure that you are getting the treatment that has been shown to work and has empirical data to support it. Validation of human experiences: I acknowledge that all clients are human first and put emphasis on someone's uniqueness and journey in life thus far. I see these struggles and adversities as part of who they come as in therapy -- no matter what. Skill adaptiveness: I understand that therapists are not going to be around forever, nor do we expect our clients to be. I incorporate psychoeducation and promote skill-building practices so that my clients can be equipped with the necessary tools to tackle their daily challenges.

I believe in the complexity of humanity and find value in the entire spectrum of human emotions. I operate from a sense of optimism that recognizes that we all have the capacity to heal from within through rewriting our own narratives. It first starts with identifying where you are in life and learning to reframe certain viewpoints. I had a hard time understanding this growing up as a Filipino. My cultural insight was limited to certain aspects, and I was amazed by the diversity I experienced after immigrating to the United States. I learned the hard truth that there is no hard truth, only a collection of beliefs from different parts of the world that can be shared with insight, love, and curiosity. I believe that healing lies in changing your perspective for yourself.
