About My Clients
Would you feel more at ease knowing that your child has a private space and dedicated time to process their feelings? Parents often come to me when they notice that their child has become disengaged or anxious. With school pressure, family system changes, uncertainty with peers, and the exposure of fearful media, it makes sense to me why your child may be feeling overwhelmed. As a therapist, I will meet you and and your child where they are with a deep presence, and feel honored to do so.
My Background and Approach
I work with children through young adulthood, providing trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy. I often utilize attachment theory and internal family systems as lenses to better understand feelings and needs. With a deep appreciation for mindfulness, I often integrate meditative and somatic work into sessions, honoring the relationship between mind and body. I have been told that I am a warm, compassionate, and non judgmental therapist. My goal in every therapeutic relationship is to help my clients explore their inner worlds with presence and curiosity, rather than shame. I deeply enjoy holding a secure and validating space for big emotions, and helping children and adolescents explore what their bodies are trying to communicate to them. I have clinical experience working in both outpatient care and crisis intervention in several environments including school districts, hospitals, and interim housing sites.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal experience with therapy inspired me to become a therapist myself. I believe the relationship between a therapist and client can be incredibly valuable, and that therapy ultimately is a playground to explore your relationship with yourself and others. As a trained social worker, I prioritize viewing people with an intersectional approach— taking into account how societal systems at large impact our sense of safety in the world. Prior to working as a therapist, I have 8+ years of nonprofit community engagement experience in Los Angeles, and am devoted to the needs of my loved ones and neighbors. In my free time, I love spending time outside with my friends and family, cuddling with my cats, engaging in social justice, and learning about eastern traditions.
