About My Clients
Lately, things might feel more overwhelming than they used to, or you're just not quite feeling like yourself. Maybe you're overthinking, feeling pressure to get things right, or carrying more than you can hold. On the outside, things may look fine, but internally it feels much more complicated. You might notice yourself parenting or reacting in ways that don’t match how you want to show up. Therapy offers space to slow down, make sense of what's been happening, and feel more grounded.
My Background and Approach
My approach focuses on understanding what’s happening in your current life and the deeper patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. We’ll look at relationships, emotional responses, and coping strategies that may have developed over time but no longer feel helpful. I draw from insight-oriented therapy, mindfulness, and CBT to help make sense of your internal experience and why certain patterns keep showing up. Alongside insight, we can build practical tools to reduce anxiety, overwhelm, and address day-to-day challenges. As a bilingual (Spanish/English) Latina therapist, I'm attuned to how identity and language shape emotional well-being. I bring an intersectional lens to therapy, where we can explore how race, gender, sexuality, culture, and other aspects of identity show up in your life. I often work with English-dominant clients who are multilingual, and I especially welcome the use of whatever language feels most emotionally resonant in the moment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make sense in context. The ways we think, feel, and cope are shaped over time by relationships, early experiences, cultural context, identity, and the environments we’ve moved through. Even patterns that feel stuck or frustrating often developed for good reason. I don’t see people as broken, but as adapting in the best way they knew how. Change becomes possible with more understanding, curiosity, and compassion for those patterns and where they come from. I also see therapy as a collaboration. You are the expert on your own lived experience, shaped by your personal history, culture, identity, and strengths. I bring clinical training and perspective, and together we make sense of what’s happening and what could help. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is central to the work, and that meaningful change often happens in connection. Human to human.
