About My Clients
I work with adults and older teens navigating ADHD, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, boundaries, perfectionism, and intense emotions. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated with patterns they want to change but aren’t sure how to break. I especially enjoy working with people who want practical, compassionate support to better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, manage emotions, and work with their brain... not against it.
My Background and Approach
I’m Cara Cancio, LCSW, a Florida-licensed clinical social worker with experience working with teens, adults, and families across private practice, schools, nonprofits, community-based settings, and the court system. I also hold an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) credential, with specialized training in ADHD and executive functioning. My approach is insight-oriented, strength-based, and solution-focused. I don’t believe therapy should be about simply having someone listen... I’m here to help you identify obstacles, challenge unhelpful patterns, consider new perspectives, and develop practical skills that fit your life and the way your brain works. Together, we’ll work toward greater clarity, confidence, emotional regulation, and a life that feels more authentic to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you deserve to understand yourself without being reduced to a diagnosis, label, or set of "problems". I value curiosity over judgment, compassion over blame, and helping people find approaches that genuinely fit who they are. My goal is to create a space where you can make sense of your experiences in a way that feels genuine and hopeful, while also building the clarity, confidence, and skills to navigate life in ways that work for you. I believe you know yourself best, and therapy should support, not override, that understanding.
