About My Clients

It takes courage to address your emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. One of the hardest challenges in life is to discover a new path when you're feeling stuck. You have just taken the hardest step by seeking support from an experienced licensed mental health professional. If you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions or have experienced a traumatic event, I want you to know that you're not alone. I use tele-therapy to offer a safe and non-judgemental space.

My Background and Approach

I strive to help my clients feel supported and empowered. I integrate mindful self-compassion, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care into my work with clients. I focus on exploration, collaboration, anti-racist, cultural sensitive, feminist, trauma informed and queer affirming practices as part of treatment. In our first session together, we will begin by getting to know what brings you to therapy and discuss possible treatment goals (and steps) necessary to address the issue/symptoms at hand. I often refer to the scariness of starting therapy, since I like to honor the feelings that are present. Most importantly, in that first session, you will begin making a connection with me as your therapist. You should feel safe, accepted, respected, and relatively comfortable. Not every therapist is right for every person, so use your first session to assess whether or not you feel like I am a good match for your personality.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being a Latinx immigrant myself, I recognize the importance of community and connection. I strive to empower women, queer folks, immigrants, and first-generation teens and adults who seek to gain clarity about their lives, dreams, and goals. I work with adolescents and adults. I support those who are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relational (family, partners, friends) issues, grief and loss or those who have experienced a traumatic event. I have extensive work with the Latinx/e population and offer sessions in both Spanish and English. Mucho de mi enfoque en la terapia es empoderar a mujeres, personas queer, inmigrantes y adultos de primera generación que buscan obtener claridad sobre sus vidas, sueños y metas.
