About My Clients
I specialize in blended family/stepfamily dynamics, anxiety, panic, parenting concerns, and working with high-achieving teens. I also have experience working with older adults who are faced with chronic health concerns, end of life decision making and changes in abilities. My clients often tell me that the thing they like best about me is the way they feel welcome and heard - even from the very first session. This is a personal and professional point of pride for me.
My Background and Approach
I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach to understanding who you are and what you would like to achieve. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the trust, respect, and alliance that is created between client and therapist. While pain, frustration, and sadness often bring people to counseling, I know that transformation happens when you take action. I look forward to helping you on your personal journey! I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University, and I am also a proud alumna of Arizona State University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During my time at ASU, I was honored to serve as the Treasurer and then President of Psi Chi, the International Honors Society in Psychology. I have experience in a wide variety of areas and enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe that every person has the capacity for change, personal growth, and development. This belief stems from a personal history of experiencing significant life challenges and working to overcome these issues. I believe in the philosophy that I would never ask a client to do something I wouldn't (or haven't already ) done myself! I maintain an open and affirming practice and I welcome anyone who wants a safe and comfortable place to begin their counseling journey.
