My Background and Approach
Candice is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work and a concentration in Child and Family Studies from Jane Addams College of Social Work-University of Illinois at Chicago. Candice has worked in a variety of settings, such as Thresholds, Illinois Department of Corrections, and Eating Recovery Center in their intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Candice's therapeutic style approaches treatment with cultural humility, considering all facets of the person and being willing to continue to learn to remain abreast of changes regarding culture and its impact on clients. Candice utilizes a strengths-based approach to assist clients with recognizing and building on their strengths to move forward in treatment. Candice approaches the therapeutic relationship with compassion, curiosity, confidence, flexibility, honesty, and support. She believes that clients are the experts on themselves and uses her skill sets to assist clients with overcoming barriers to becoming the best versions of themselves.
