About My Clients
Candace works with adult and adolescent clients who are experiencing: Life transitions or challenges, worry, nervousness, sadness, hopelessness, grief and loss, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
Candace worked in the mental health field for just under a decade prior to completing her Master's Degree and transitioning into her therapy role. Candace provides warmth and humor during sessions to help all feel safe and comfortable in talking about life's challenges. She uses a collaborative approach in her work with clients, which is consistent with her strong passion for social justice and core values in providing a nonjudgmental and culturally-sensitive and responsive environment for all clients. Candace utilizes a trauma-informed approach, including Brainspotting. She uses a strengths-based and relational approach to her work with clients and also incorporates Polyvagal Theory and Mindfulness into her work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Candace believes that all mental health challenges stem from experiences and the things that happened to us, and that there is always hope! Through her own therapy Candace has learned to both accept and challenge automatic intrusive thoughts. Candace uses an anti-capitalist, anti-racist lens in her work as well as a social justice orientation.
