About My Clients
Are you open to change? Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone? The client should feel heard and understood after each session. The client should feel challenged to some degree, but also encouraged that they are doing the work. There should be a goal they are working towards, that we have agreed on together. They should feel a sense of motivation, investment, hope or progress.
My Background and Approach
I got my masters in social work at the University of South Carolina, and I have worked in various mental health settings with both children and young adults. I like to start from where the client is, identify the issues that are most significant to the client, set our goals, build our plan together and do check ins at the beginning of each session. I utilize a combination of solution focused/task centered therapy with CBT along with language from motivational interviewing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Personally I am a Christian. I support people from every walk of life and any belief or religion they may hold. Everyone deserves love and everyone has value and deserves to be valued.
