I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with several years of experience and I specialize in treating young adults, adults, and seniors. I have vast experience treating the following conditions: anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, women's issues, insomnia, stress management, and more.
My Background and Approach
My journey in healthcare began in nursing after obtaining a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My interest in mental health grew as she worked more closely with patients from all walks of life. I have provided excellent care to individuals across the lifespan for the past several years, in various outpatient clinics and the psychiatric Emergency Department. Camellia has also worked closely with women challenged with perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety. My aim is to provide a safe space for all, first by actively listening, then by education and support to empower clients to collaborate and establish an individualized plan to promote mental and physical wellness. During our first session, you can expect a warm, patient-centered approach to gain more information about you and to best understand how to individualize a treatment plan that works for you. I will always encourage questions and an open discussion for concerns. We are a team!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in “seeing the big picture,” and in working with great effort with each patient to provide culturally-sensitive care to determine root cause issues and an accurate assessment. My training in health and life coaching has allowed her to also motivate her patients in all aspects of wellness, thus pursuing an integrative and holistic approach. I also take pride in providing a judgement free zone and a safe space for patients to express their emotions and concerns. My goal is to collaborate with patients to help them get well and feel better.
