About My Clients
I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with issues of both over-control, such as OCD and anxiety, and under-control, including depression, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. Many of the people I work with feel stuck — caught in the same patterns, repeating the same behaviors, and telling themselves the same stories.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is a big commitment, and I honor that by using methods that work. I use evidence-based approaches, including an emerging version of Dialectical Behavior Therapy that integrates ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), to help you move towards a more fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is about learning to sit with discomfort. So much of our energy goes into avoiding pain—avoiding our feelings, our thoughts, even ourselves. But when we stay in avoidance, we end up running from the very things that make life meaningful and full. Real growth begins when we stop running and start paying attention. My work is about helping people become more aware—of their emotions, their thoughts, and their core values. I work best with clients who want something more for themselves, who sense that life doesn’t have to stay the way it is, and who are ready to explore what change could look like.
