About My Clients
Your child may be experiencing temper tantrums, hyperactivity, changes in mood, aggressive behavior, difficulty sleeping, self-harm and much more. Finding the right therapist to address your child's needs can be stressful and overwhelming. I will help you and your child create a treatment plan that will be specifically for them. Each child is unique with their own dreams, talents, and strengths. I make sure to see the whole individual when they walk through my office.
My Background and Approach
I have completed an advanced training in Sand Play Therapy which allows individuals to heal by creating a world in a sandtray using miniature objects. Through symbolic play individuals are able to resolve their issues without needing to talk about it. This therapy is great for an adolescent who doesn't want to talk or for a child whose language is play. I am a registered play therapist that incorporates other play therapy approaches as well. I have a post masters certificate in play and expressive therapy. I am also trained in EMDR which is an evidence based approach that resolves trauma. In addition, I have had training with supporting parents with meeting their children's needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that play, creativity and imagination are essential to child development and mental health for all ages. Everyone has the capacity to heal given the right environment and support.
