About My Clients
I work best with people having a hard time but not necessarily a crisis. A case of the sads that won't quit. Anxiety that keeps creeping in. A life transition that's bigger than expected. That low-grade 'I'm fine' that isn't really fine. Those existing out of spite. Or people who reluctantly tried the whole exercise-for-anxiety thing and are now mad about having a gym routine. If any of that sounds familiar, hi, you're in the right place.
My Background and Approach
I've spent six years working in outpatient and residential behavioral health with a focus on substance use, mental health, and the place where the two overlap. I draw from DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches depending on what actually fits you, because not every modality works for every person. Sessions are collaborative and practical. We'll figure out together what's working and what isn't and adjust from there. The goal is tools you'll actually use.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every problem a person brings to therapy is a symptom of an unmet need or a gap in tools and experience, not a character flaw. People are capable of change when they want it, and my job is to help them get there, not to want it for them. I use a trauma-informed lens because understanding why we are the way we are matters just as much as learning how to be different. I'm not easily shocked, I don't turn my nose up at much, and I believe meeting someone where they are is the only place to start
