About My Clients
My clients are smart, insightful, and diverse. They have an interest in getting to the core of their issues and have the courage to be vulnerable. Professionals, students, new mothers all come to the therapeutic room to look into their trauma, wanting to change their thoughts and behaviors, looking to grow and better themselves.
My Background and Approach
Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans. Lately, I have been working on my trauma training endorsements with Lifespan Integration, which came out of an EMDR interlude. I also have been to anti-racism/anti-colonialist books clubs and trainings to better explore how the therapeutic world can show up better for me and for my clients. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral modality, with influence in Attachment and Psychodynamic therapy as we look at family of origin matters. I am also working on Perinatal certification after my time as a social worker for a midwives clinic.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone who steps foot in my office has a story to tell and that they need a partner in their mental health journey. I'm a social worker by degree and license. Which means I stand for human rights and stand against the discrimination of others. As a person of color, people come to me with internal and external bias as well as a willingness to explore it.
