About My Clients
I strive to create a space where people across the lifespan from teenager into adulthood can process events that often feel overwhelming, frightening, and dysregulating. I am especially passionate about helping people through early years of parenting, the changes that happen rapidly in these years can often create increased stress, and feeling lost within this new identity.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Processional Clinical Counselor who is trained in DBT, CBT, and DBT Prolonged Exposure. I also draw from humanistic, feminist, and interpersonal strategies. DBT utilizes mindfulness as the center and builds skills to increase effectiveness in communication, regulating emotions, and gaining skills to tolerate current emotions and experiences. My clinical interests include: depression, anxiety, school stress, parenting, self esteem, relationship concerns, and trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we can all create meaningful change. Therapy is just one setting where this happens. It can be a place to navigate the challenges our world is currently facing. It is imperative that you feel safe to process your experiences in therapy. It is also paramount that you feel a connection with your therapist. Our lived experiences impact our daily functioning. Therapy should and can be a place to process how these experiences have lead us to where we are today.
