I view substance abuse/dependence as symptomatic of a deeper struggle. I work with my clients to address not only their substance use, but also the underlying concerns. I have experience working with inpatient dual diagnosis clients, suffering from severe mental health concerns and co-occurring substance abuse. Most recently, I facilitated an intensive outpatient treatment program for addiction. I am also trained in Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP).

I have experience working with a variety of anxiety disorders, including social anxiety, OCD, agoraphobia, Panic Disorder, GAD, and more. I regularly utilize Internal Family Systems and mindfulness techniques to assist my clients in building their awareness and access to tools in order to address anxiety. I have worked with mental health concerns in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care, providing individual and group therapy.

In working with my clients on low self-esteem and self-worth, I often utilize IFS, EMDR, mindfulness techniques, behavior modification, and insight-focused talk therapy. My training in the Daring Way also provides me tools to assist clients in working through experiences of shame, often associated with low self-esteem. I help my clients to get in touch with their inherent goodness and work through past experiences that have threatened their positive sense of self.

While my approach to the therapeutic relationship is person-centered and highly humanistic with my belief in helping my clients to connect with their truest selves, I utilize a CBT framework to work with my clients to build awareness and find relief from suffering. I have specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have done work with Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, to assist with anxiety disorders.

I am intensively trained in Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) and have received training in other mindfulness modalities. A lot of my mindfulness work as a therapist is informed by my personal practice, where I commit to daily mindfulness work and have completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course and multiple silent retreats.

I am an EMDR trained clinician and a member of EMDRIA, the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association. I commonly work with clients to resolve PTSD, anxiety and stress disorders, and self-esteem concerns utilizing this approach.

Through my training in IFS, I believe it helps us to work through past traumas, find acceptance in ourselves, and implement the behaviors we want, in place of those we struggle to let go of. I utilize this modality to assist clients in fostering a greater understanding of their own unique system, to unburden old wounds, and to be able to lead from our most authentic selves. I will also utilize this with EMDR through the EMDR + IFS PARTS protocol.
