About My Clients
An ideal client for me is someone who is open to self-exploration and motivated to engage in the therapeutic process with curiosity and honesty, even when it feels challenging. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and I believe that trust, mutual respect, and a commitment to growth are the most important factors in creating lasting change—no matter your background, experiences, or diagnosis.
My Background and Approach
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my early work in alcohol and substance use treatment, where I had the privilege of connecting with people from all walks of life. Listening to their stories—of resilience, struggle, and hope—taught me two profound truths. First, so many individuals carry unspoken traumas, and simply having a compassionate, judgment-free space to share their experiences can bring incredible relief and healing. Second, I saw how traditional approaches to substance use treatment often overlooked the whole person—separating mental health from substance use instead of treating them as interconnected parts of a person’s journey. Determined to make a meaningful difference, I pursued a master’s degree and became a therapist in 2015, developing an integrated, person-centered approach that honors each individual’s experiences, fosters healing, and supports healthy choices without shame or guilt. No matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome here.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is rooted in inclusivity, equity, and the belief that everyone deserves access to support, care, and safety. I strive to create a welcoming and affirming space for all individuals, particularly those who have experienced trauma, neurodivergence, or chronic and invisible illnesses. I am an advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, reproductive freedom, and access to education and healthcare. I believe in breaking down systemic barriers that limit people’s ability to live authentically and with dignity. Mental health awareness is especially important to me, as I understand how deeply it intersects with issues of identity, access, and well-being. Whether through education, advocacy, or simply holding space for others, I am committed to fostering a world where people feel seen, heard, and valued.
