About My Clients

Are you going through a major life change? Struggling with feelings during your day-to-day activities? I can help support you! I am passionate about working with teens, young adults, and adults who are working through a life transition, grief, anxiety, depression, caregiver stress, managing a chronic illness, low self esteem, and relational struggles.

My Background and Approach

Prior to private practice, I worked with a variety of different age groups including young adolescents, adults, older adults, and families working to process a vast range of issues. I worked in setting including residential care, crisis management and stabilization, and adult protective services. Throughout my time in the field I have gained valuable skills helping clients manage depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, diagnosis of chronic medical issues, and stress management. In therapy, I use an integrative approach to help you feel comfortable, build trust, and develop an understanding of your individualized goals. This will give you space to process all of life's ups and downs and empower you to be your true, authentic self. My therapeutic style can be described as warm, genuine, and empathetic.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

At Nikkie Evans PLLC we are passionate about creating progress, not perfection. What does that mean? You know that horrible feeling you get in your gut when something hasn’t gone the way you planned it to go? Maybe your school experience hasn’t been all that you imagined it would be. Perhaps you failed an important test. You’re struggling to feel like you fit in. Didn’t get into your dream college. Lost a loved one or ended a relationship. Didn’t get the job. Bad first date. Wasn’t the perfect “pinterest mom” for your kids. Feeling like a failure or like you don’t measure up can make us feel stuck. We value progress. Progress allows us to stay present and focused on small steps along the way, rather than the end goal. By focusing on the smaller steps, we are able to enjoy life, even if things are not perfect, because we have a greater awareness of our progress. We will help you to replace negative thoughts with new ways to speak kindly and supportively to yourself.
