About My Clients
Moving through this life can be overwhelming. We can work together to allow you to process your experiences, while learning and healing from these experiences and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, symptoms, and how you are interacting with your world. Doing this work opens you up to the possibility of engaging with yourself and your relationships with more insight, discipline, self-awareness, and self-compassion.
My Background and Approach
I received my BA in Psychology in 2014, before moving on to get my Master's of Social Work in 2019. I have worked in a variety of different arenas in mental health, learning and observing new information about the most effective ways to work through symptoms. I have been trained in various forms of trauma treatment, with Brainspotting, somatic strategies, and parts work being the modalities I utilize the most frequently. My philosophy and approach with counseling is client-centered, as I recognize the needs of each client can vary. My practice is very much holistic, bringing attention to all parts that contribute to distress and dysregulation. I believe that increasing awareness around behaviors allows us to respond to ourselves and circumstances differently. I also emphasize the importance of the mind/body connection, as this is an integral part of the healing process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself to be fiercely passionate for living this life to the best of my ability, to the fullest potential! I strive to live a life aligned with my values, based in treating myself and others with respect and compassion. I enjoy connecting with nature, my family, and the simple pleasures of life that keep me grounded and fulfilled. I also value self-determination, consistently honoring the idea that we all get to hold the reigns to our life— to make it what we desire.
