About My Clients
While I specialize in eating disorders, women’s health, and trauma, I believe that anyone can be my ideal client. I will take the time to get to know each of my clients individually before making any treatment recommendations or plans. I look at all pieces of the story and person - physically, socially, and psychologically. I believe that if we can tell our stories in safe spaces, change occurs and we can heal. I hope to work closely together on this healing journey for you.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from the University of Rochester with my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. From my training there, I utilize a biopsychosocial lens with all of my clients to see them fully. I utilize various approaches; EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, DBT, narrative, solution-focused. I believe that therapy isn’t one size fits all, and I’ll take the time to get to know you and your needs before implementing any intervention. I have background and training in eating disorders at a partial hospitalization level, EMDR trauma therapy, and postpartum depression & womens health from working at a community outpatient clinic. I also have previous work experience with foster care, CPS, and adoption. I consider my style as encouraging, warm, humorous, and compassionate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I live by the values of honesty, dependability, respect, integrity, and kindness. I believe these will show through to my clients within our work together to help create a safe space. I am a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, a Health at Every Size clinician and appreciate body positivity/neutrality, and an ally with the LGBTQ+ community.
