I have found that the best interventions for anxiety include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and grounding techniques or exercises. CBT works through recognizing how an individual's thoughts and behaviors affect the way they feel which in turn can generate anxiety. Grounding works to help with controlling intense emotional experiences by bringing your focus back to reality in the present moment.

Alcohol use disorders tend to develop over time and can be considered mild, moderate, or severe. Consider how substance use may be impacting your life--relationships, mental health, employment, school. Having a solid support network, appropriate treatment interventions, and healthy coping skills may put you on a path to long term recovery.

Adjustment disorders are often caused by an event or situation that takes place in life causing intense or stressful reactions that often make it very difficult to cope. Examples may be: loss of job, relocation, loss of a loved one, starting a new job, or divorce. Psychotherapy is an effective treatment strategy that allows the individual to talk through the thoughts and emotions they may be experiencing. Developing effective problem solving strategies is key for most.

Trauma-informed therapy is a widely recognized treatment intervention that involves recognizing and understanding the impact of trauma.

Mindfulness-based therapy encompasses different forms of meditation, taking a look thoughts and reactions to situations, being present in the moment, and doing so without judgment.

CBT allows the individual to take a look at the connection among your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Cognitive distortions are irrational thoughts that influence those feelings or emotions.
