About My Clients
I provide individual psychotherapy to professionals and students who are interested both in symptom-relief and examining the root causes of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or relationship problems. Together we’ll delve into your inner world and explore who you are and what you want so that you can become more fully alive.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by training. I bring a warm and collaborative approach to the psychotherapy treatment. In addition to working to help you experience relief from the symptoms that brought you into treatment I aim to work with you to increase your overall sense of agency and increase your experience of resilience with the challenges that life can bring us.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that psychotherapy and mental health in general needs to be more accessible to anyone who can benefit from it. I also think it is important to bring greater inclusion to this field in terms of increasing the diversity of mental health clinicians practicing in the field as well as bringing greater sensitivity by psychotherapists to the specific challenges that people of color and/or those who identify in some way as other, experience. I am trying to effect this change through my volunteer work mentoring new social workers and my volunteer committee work with the Northern CA Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Additionally I see a select number of individuals on a sliding scale basis.
