About My Clients

If you desire a therapist that is direct, empathetic, and client-centered, you are in the right place! I like to be relatable and use humor in sessions, when appropriate. I want you to feel comfortable in the therapy room and feel like you can let your guard down to really dig into the work. I am a human first and therapist second. I used evidence based practices to treat the issues I work with, so you can rest easy that we are working towards your goals in an organized and researched manner.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in psychology (minor in business) and then went on to graduate with my M.Ed. from Vanderbilt in clinical mental health counseling. I am trained in EMDR. I have an extensive background in treating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and ARFID. I also specialize in substance use disorders. I have worked in PHP, IOP, and residential care settings, which gives me experience in just about every level of motivation and recovery. I have also worked in a group practice before starting my own practice. It is important to me to collaborate with your care team (i.e. dietitian, PCP, etc.) to make sure that you are getting the best care possible. My approach utilizes CBT, ACT, and solution focused therapy. I find it important to not only meet clients were they are at, but work collaboratively to help them move forward. While I am a direct therapist, empathy is extremely important to me. I believe that recovery can happen at any age or stage in life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is important to me that every client that enters my therapy room (whether in person or virtually) feels welcome and supported. All identities will be celebrated and affirmed. I think that people can reach recovery at whatever stage in life they are in. Whether you have struggled for 6 months or 16 years, you can still recover. I don't think that therapy has to be a stuffy and overly formal to be effective. You are the expert on your life and I want to support you in the way that feels most empowering and beneficial. I hope that when a session is finished you can leave with lots of things to think about, while also feeling like you had a place to simply explore. Outside of the therapy room, I like to read and spend time with my two dogs (I have a Great Dane and a Mastiff mix, so there is a lot of love to go around). I love to bake and Crumbl is one of my all time favorite dessert places.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
