About My Clients
Clients I work best with often include those experiencing a life transition. Whether it is entering a new relationship, the loss of a relationship, retirement, change in career, changes in health, etc. I am very experienced in guiding clients through those life changes. I do this through the use of a strong therapeutic relationship, through exploration of interpersonal relationships, and through improved understanding of thoughts and behaviors as they impact our daily lives.
My Background and Approach
Life is a journey. It consists of waves of relative ease and undercurrents of turmoil. We often believe we are in control of our lives and struggle to make sense of things when we are not. I am here to help you regain control of what you can and to make peace with what you cannot control. I have often been told that my calm, non-judgmental approach to therapy helps open the space for clients to do the necessary work of change. I do this through the use of mindfulness and improved control of your thoughts and behaviors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Ever since I was a young child, I have believed that if I possessed an item or skill that could help another in need, I should share it. Whether it is helping financially, through material goods, or physical work, assisting others is important for all of humanity. This belief is not rooted in any religion. This belief is rooted in awareness, connection, and compassion. It is this belief that lead me to study clinical psychology. By mastering the understanding and skills necessary to help those struggling with cognitive and/or emotional states, I can continue my efforts to be a helper in the world. This belief drives me in all that I do whether as a therapist, partner, parent, or community member.
