About My Clients
As an adolescent therapist, my ideal client population includes teenagers aged 12 to 18 who are navigating various challenges such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, and academic stress. I focus on individuals who may be experiencing difficulties in their social relationships or facing issues related to self-esteem and identity formation. With a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment, I foster trust and encourage self-exploration.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Alabama. I earned both my undergraduate degree and my master's degree in social work from Jacksonville State University. I have worked in various settings as a social worker, including child welfare, substance abuse, medical social work, and therapy. My theoretical interventions are grounded in evidence-based practices, primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help adolescents identify and reframe negative thought patterns. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to enhance emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, and I apply Person-Centered Therapy principles to foster trust and encourage self-exploration. I seek ongoing professional development through workshops and seminars focused on adolescent mental health.
