About My Clients

I work best with adults who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them — whether that's a difficult relationship with food and their body, persistent anxiety or OCD, or a depression that's drained the joy from daily life. My clients are often high-functioning people who are ready to do meaningful work but need a skilled, compassionate guide. I especially love working with those navigating eating disorder recovery and welcome clients going through life transitions, relationships, and grief.

My Background and Approach

I received my M.A./EdM. in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University — a program that shaped not only my clinical skills but my core philosophy as a therapist. At TC, I developed a compassionate, multicultural lens that I bring to every client relationship, recognizing that identity — including culture, race, gender, and lived experience — plays a crucial role in how we understand and treat mental health. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. A thorough understanding of who you are as a whole person is essential to building a treatment plan that actually works for you. Clinically, I am well-trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My approach is primarily evidence-based — meaning the techniques I use are backed by research and have been shown to produce real results. Within that framework, I specialize in eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, and depression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe strongly in the healing power of embodiment — of learning to live fully in your body, even when that feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar. In my own life, this looks like yoga, aerial arts, and running along the West Side Highway. I'm drawn to practices that challenge me, humble me, and remind me that being a beginner at something is not a weakness — it's actually where a lot of the growth happens. I believe there is something deeply therapeutic about trying things we're "bad" at, seeking out novel experiences, and stepping outside our comfort zones and our bubbles. Getting out into the world, integrating into community, and allowing ourselves to be changed by new people and places — these aren't just nice ideas, they're things I try to live by. When I'm not in session, you can find me with my dog, lost in a good book, or on the hunt for some new experience worth having. These values show up in my clinical work, too — I love helping clients find small, meaningful ways to rec
