About My Clients
I’ve worked with individuals whose lives have given them more than they can handle. Also, the opposite, where life hasn’t given them enough. Let's find the middle path between the two extremes for you.
My Background and Approach
You can sit quietly next to the pond and work on being present with mindfulness. Dip your toes in and watch the ripples in your life from using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) or DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) skills. Or you can dive into the deep and scary with TF-CBT (trauma-focused) and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). Life can be like the muddy bottom of the pond; this is a place where I’m comfortable, and I’m willing to be there with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is a team process that can be explained by the DBT metaphor of a boat. You and I are in the therapy boat together. Both of us are working together to move the boat in the pond. By contributing to the process, I can provide guidance and support while you learn and implement new skills to navigate challenges and make progress toward your goals. I’m not sitting back and giving directions; I’m actively participating in the journey with you. At the same time, you’re not working against the process of therapy (by drilling holes in the boat). We are working together, communicating to achieve your life worth living.
