About My Clients
The populations I am passionate about supporting include teens and adults who are dealing with trauma/complex-trauma, anxiety, depression, life changes, relationship issues, and/or ADHD. I work with my clients to help them learn what coping strategies work best for them to alleviate symptoms and to process their thoughts and feelings in a safe and affirming environment.
My Background and Approach
I attended graduate school at Texas State University where I studied professional counseling with an emphasis in clinical mental health. I interned at Camp Phoenix, the Texas State Counseling Center, and YWCA Greater Austin where I gained skills and experience counseling kids, teens, and adults individually and in groups. After schooling I worked at Integral Care's Child and Family Services division in Austin where I supported children ages 4-17 and their families for almost 2 years. In early 2023, I started my own private practice called Emerald Path Counseling PLLC where I provide virtual talk therapy and EMDR to teens and adults. I identify as a person centered therapist as I meet the client where they are at and incorporate various elements of certain therapies or techniques based on need or request- whether that be CBT, EMDR, or somatic work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are shaped by many factors including genetics, family, culture, and environment. No one person is the same, just as no one person’s experience of therapy is the same. I believe each client should have their therapist attune to them as a unique individual to best support them. I collaborate with clients to create an action plan that suits their desired outcomes and support them in achieving their goals. In sessions, I hold space for clients to explore and gain insight into themselves as a whole person.
