About My Clients
I work with children 4+, teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief, behavioral issues, low self-esteem, body image, life transitions, gender identity, and sexuality. I utilize affirming counseling practices with all clients, and especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families.
My Background and Approach
As a trauma-informed and client-centered therapist, I aim to provide a safe, empathic, and nonjudgmental space for clients to be truly seen and heard. My eclectic approach draws from my experience and training in expressive arts (including sandtray), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), among others. I strive to meet clients where they are in order to create an environment that supports healing. Treatment typically involves focusing on immediate relief in the development of coping and relaxation skills, and providing education about behaviors and symptoms. Then we will begin making meaning of past experiences and create more positive thought patterns.
