About My Clients
At Flourish Beyond Therapy, I provide individual therapy for adult women navigating the lasting effects of childhood emotional neglect, anxiety, self-doubt, and burn-out. Emotional neglect can be subtle and easy to miss. You may have grown up in a home that looked “fine” from the outside- where physical needs were met, but emotional needs weren’t acknowledged, supported, or valued. Over time this can quietly shape how you relate to others- especially in adulthood.
My Background and Approach
I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington. Prior to opening my private practice, I was working with a non-profit helping women and children transition out of homelessness and domestic violence situations. Now having transitioned into private practice, I primarily work with women who have experienced emotional neglect and now see the impact of this neglect in their relationships with others and themselves. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) at my practice. If you have any questions about what these approaches look like in practice, I would be happy to tell you more as well as answer any specific questions you might have during a free 20 minute consultation. Additionally, my approach to therapy is very relational. Research states that clients who have good rapport established with their therapists have better success in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Christian and I offer Christian counseling to those that are interested in implementing their faith into their counseling experience. This does not mean that I do not welcome or enjoy working with people who have differing belief systems- I do and I would be honored to walk alongside of you on your therapy journey. I believe that every person has inherent worth, are valuable, and capable of achieving the life that they want for themselves.
