About My Clients
I have experience working with people who struggle with substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma. I have a particular passion and interest in working with young adults at a transitional age, navigating adulthood. I have worked with a variety of presenting issues and populations throughout my career.
My Background and Approach
A little bit about me; I graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies with a MA in Integral Counseling Psychology. At this graduate program, I learned the importance of bringing together contemplative practices, in both a secular and spiritual context, with western approaches such as behavioral techniques, to create real and lasting change. After graduating, I completed my internship and an Assertive Community Treatment program. The goal of this outpatient program was to reduce hospitalization and support people in staying in their community; a mission that I strongly believe in and continue to work towards in my role at TLA therapy. My approach is really catered to what the individual is needing in the moment. I am a person centered, humanistic therapist first and foremost. Working from this humanistic lens, I pull from approaches such as: DBT, CBT, EMDR, ACT, mindfulness, PE, and CPT.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a passion and connection to mental health as a result of my own personal experiences and mental health journey. I strongly believe that everybody has a right to access mental health care a human right. I have faith that human beings possess innate goodness and inner wisdom, and that in therapy, we work together to reveal this to ourselves.
