About My Clients
You’re here because you want to make some kind of change in your life and things have gotten to be just a little bit too much to handle right now. It can be a scary and daunting task to reach out for help and begin therapy. It won’t be easy and it won’t always feel good but let’s see about carving out some space and time to start your journey of healing and enhancing your life and relationships.
My Background and Approach
I believe therapy is about me helping you navigate life’s challenges and taking steps to become the version of yourself that you want. I will meet you, your family, and your partner where you are currently and work within that to help you reach your goals. You can expect honesty, empathy, and grace while we work on what brought you in to see me. I believe that everything is a system and therefore interconnected. This means that I seek to work with the whole person, family, or couple while identifying and respecting challenges that come with being a racial, gender, cultural, religious, or sexual minority in today’s world. I seek to provide a therapeutic experience that is authentic and congruent to who I am as a person. When you come to talk to me, I want you to feel as though you are talking to another living, thinking, and breathing human being. You’re taking this step and being so vulnerable with me in doing so and I want you to feel supported in our therapeutic space.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very passionate about social justice, equity, and the lived experiences of Black womxn in America. I view people as entire entities not just singluar identities and roles that they may occupy in others' lives. I take a "not-knowing" approach to life as I am ignorant of many things, but I am here to learn, absorb, and participate. I enjoy video games, anime, reading, and hanging with my dog.
