About My Clients
Many of my clients appear to have it all together on the outside, while internally feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, disordered eating, body image concerns, substance use, life transitions, and type 1 diabetes. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, supported, and connected to themselves again in a space that feels safe, compassionate, and free of judgment.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, understood, and free of judgment as we explore the patterns, experiences, and emotions that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to help you develop insight into your struggles while also identifying strengths and building healthier ways of coping and moving forward. I have professional experience working as both a therapist and clinical director in residential and outpatient treatment settings for adults struggling with substance use disorders and eating disorders, as well as experience in behavioral health hospital settings. I also have personal experience navigating type 1 diabetes, which gives me additional understanding of the emotional impact of living with a chronic illness. While I bring expertise in the counseling process, I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I value working collaboratively throughout therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that meaningful change is possible at every stage of life, even when things feel overwhelming or stuck. My role as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, explore new ways of coping, and move toward the life they want to create. I value authenticity, collaboration, and treating each client with compassion and respect. I also believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health and recognize the connection between emotional and physical wellbeing. Mindfulness is something I value both personally and professionally, and I often incorporate it into my work with clients when appropriate. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, spending time outdoors with my dog Sadie, and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
