About My Clients
To the rest of the world, you're the girl that has it all together. But on the inside, you feel like everything's falling apart. You're finding yourself totally obsessed with controlling your food or body, or maybe the pressure you put on yourself to do everything right is absolutely crushing you. Perhaps you're realizing perfectionism and high-achievement is both your greatest superpower and your worst enemy. You're drowning, you're stuck, and maybe kind of afraid to ask for help. I get it!
My Background and Approach
I'll help you find relief from the crippling pressure you're feeling, while empowering you step confidently into your strengths. We'll find the tools that work for you to overcome disordered eating, body image, low self-esteem, anxiety, and toxic perfectionism. Together we'll discover the "why" of the problem and the "how" of your unique path forward. In therapy, you'll be in the drivers seat. Think of me as your guide or navigator! I'll be in the passenger seat, offering routes and techniques you can use on the road to feeling better. It is my #1 goal as your therapist that you feel safe to share the most difficult and vulnerable parts of being human. I lead with compassion and encouragement, but I'm not afraid to (gently) challenge you too! As a strengths-based therapist, I'll help you to see and embrace your unique capabilities and empower you to make the (sometimes scary) changes you need to feel in control of your life again.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each and every one of my clients has the ability to recover and live an empowered life on their own terms, because I was once in their shoes too! As a therapist who's recovered from her own disordered eating and toxic overachieving, I have true empathy and hope for my clients that can only come from personal experience. I believe in health at every size, body liberation, body positivity and neutrality, as well as intuitive eating and movement. It is my philosophy as a therapist that you can heal through self-acceptance, harnessing your unique strengths, and seeing the true perfection in your imperfections.
