About My Clients
“No one can go back and make a brand new start, however anyone can start now and make a brand new ending” unknown. Being handed what feels like a “bad deck of cards” can often make life seem impossible and make you feel like there is no way you can ever make anything positive out of it. I work with a variety of ages from young children to adults, helping each age group find ways to appropriately express their needs and emotions to those they love around them to help overcome negative emotions.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with high distinction from Liberty University with a Masters in Professional Counseling. After graduating, I served in the community offering counseling in the homes and later transitioned to outpatient counseling. Besides experience in managing anxiety and depression, I also specialize in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, parent training, and family therapy. I use a person-centered, cognitive behavioral approach in my sessions to help others understand reasons for their behaviors and make the changes they want to make.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly enjoy helping others work through the many problems that come with life and believe it’s important that we all have a space we feel is safe where we can talk without judgment. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at and from there we work together to get where they want to be. When I am not working I value time with my family and my animals. I love taking walks outside, riding my horse, and playing with my kids.
