About My Clients

I love working with all ages: kids, teens, adults, and older folks. I enjoy working with couples and families as well. Working with folx through relational issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, identity concerns, gender, sexuality, race, and overall development some of the topics I specialize in with clients.

My Background and Approach

I received a BA from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, which I am indeed a lover of music! I obtained my MA in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Associate in the State of Washington (MC61056069). I like to think of myself as a kooky and empathic human. As a born and raised midwesterner, I have found by living in different places that the relationships we have with both ourselves and others often determine our well-being. In my view, the counseling process is collaborative between us and can facilitate growth and change. I find focusing and building upon personal strengths, developing self-compassion and implementing new skills can bring about transformation. I practice from an attachment theory perspective, looking at primary caregiver relationships as a way to understand the role that connection plays in your life. I also practice from a perspective that our bodies are vital in the work of healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all know that life is full of messiness, but what if we didn’t have to hold it together? What if we didn’t show a version of ourselves or wear a facade? What if we could be really honest about our experiences, thoughts, and feelings? Sometimes it’s hard to find places to allow our chaos, confusion and pain to come out of hiding and be seen. My hope is that you find comfort and safety to allow the mess to show up. I believe therapy offers us the invitation to do something different — to choose a new way. It can be an uncomfortable and powerful offer to be seen, known and heard for who you really are. My belief in therapy is centered around the healing power of relationships, because of that I pay attention to both our dynamic and communication as important tools in our work. Our therapeutic relationship can be the revealer of previous patterns, blocks, conflict styles and other relational tendencies. The question we get to lean into is, what are we going to do with this information?
