About My Clients
I have a strong knowledge base in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are experiencing a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, behavioral concerns, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping my clients develop coping skills, build reliance, improve relationships, and have fun while reaching their treatment goals!
My Background and Approach
I incorporate a variety of techniques and approaches during sessions based on my clients' needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. I often combine evidence-based methods with creative activities in order to help my clients reach their treatment goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
During sessions, I strive to create a supportive, affirming, and non-judgmental environment, with a dash of humor. I aim to meet my clients where they are, while gently challenging unhelpful patterns or beliefs. My goal is to create a space where my clients can feel free to explore themselves and tell their stories while receiving support, guidance, and empowerment. My experiences growing up in a military family and travelling to different locations also had a lasting impact on me, as I was able to meet many people from different backgrounds. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, and during that time minored in women's studies. That experience led me to pursue my master's degree in social work. After experiences in child welfare, schools, and years in community-based mental health, I am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
