About My Clients
You may have experienced a traumatic event or traumatic relationship, either recently or in the past, and are wondering when you are ever going to feel like yourself again. You may even be experiencing anxiety, grief, depression or trouble sleeping on a daily basis. Or maybe you aren't here for yourself. Perhaps you are looking to find help for your child who is struggling making friends, dealing with a trauma themselves, or living with a disability. Well, I am glad you are here! Welcome.
My Background and Approach
There are a lot of different options out there to find help, but not all are as attentive to your needs. My goal when providing services is always to build a safe, trusting relationship so that we can work together to achieve your biggest mental health goals. You deserve someone who not only listens to understand, but also infuses appropriate humor to lighten the load all while empowering you as well. While I have been widely trained in various modalities, theories and approaches, I most often utilize an Integrative Approach that frequently focuses on Person-Centered Therapy, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, Multi-Cultural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). I am also specifically trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am currently training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about making the therapeutic experience inclusive, collaborative, and hope-filled for everyone. After years as both a mentor and a special education teacher I gained tremendous experience with various socioeconomic groups, ages, and populations. This experience ultimately led to my decision to start this private practice and pursue a career that focused more on the holistic needs of both children and adults.
