About My Clients

I offer trauma-informed therapy for people healing from religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and other high-demand systems (from MLMs, secular cults, high-control wellness groups, competitive academic environments, etc.)—and for those navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, and the essential work of reclaiming themselves.

My Background and Approach

I practice from a trauma-informed, queer-affirming, neuro-affirming, and intersectional lens. My style is collaborative, process-oriented, and always adapted to the client's pace, goals, and way of making sense of the world. My approach integrates narrative therapy, ACT, and somatic practices. Narrative therapy examines inherited stories and works to construct a narrative that is true to who the client is becoming. ACT helps clarify values and take committed steps toward living in alignment with them. Somatic practices attend to what the body is carrying—the chronic tension, the numbness, the hypervigilance—because high-demand systems don't just shape what people think and believe; they shape how the nervous system responds to the world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value inclusivity and strive to provide culturally competent therapy, recognizing that issues that present themselves in therapy are likely informed by larger contexts and systems (family, cultural, societal, etc.)—including awareness of issues related to power, privilege, and marginalization. I have always been interested in and continue to educate myself about the diversity of the human experience—cultural values/practices, race, ethnicity, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, social class, and ability. I bring this curiosity with me, while honoring you as the expert in your own experience. I offer virtual (throughout KY, IN, and SC) and in-person therapy (in Louisville, KY). If you are interested in getting started or learning more, please schedule a free 10-minute phone consultation, so we can see if we may be a good fit to work together: https://mindfulnesscenter.sessionshealth.com.
