About My Clients
I work with a diverse population of adults and elders who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship and communication challenges, and a variety of other concerns. Clients use our sessions to address aspects of their lives that feel stuck, unsatisfying, or overwhelming. They can develop new ways of thinking about themselves or their lives, more options for dealing with emotions, and increased confidence and empowerment in interpersonal issues.
My Background and Approach
My approach is flexible, tailored to the specific needs and preferences of the client, and draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), solution focused, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapies. My personal style is empathetic, curious, and fairly active, with the aim of allowing you to experience rapid progress towards the goals that you establish. In addition to my clinical background, I have extensive experience from a prior career in scientific research, and am very familiar with challenges facing those in the scientific and medical communities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal as your therapist is to provide a space where you can feel heard, seen, and truly understood, and to support you in resolving whatever challenge has prompted you to seek support. I also strive to increase clients' sense of agency and mastery within their lives, and to help them engage with the world around them with greater satisfaction.
