About My Clients

I am passionate about working with adults who are coping with the oppressive structures we all live under, which can cause anxiety and depression, and trying to live their preferred lives. I have a particular interest in supporting other helping professionals and helping folks navigate gender, sexuality, and pelvic pain.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in an anti-oppression lens that recognizes the impact of systems on overall wellbeing. Let me support you in navigating your world and identifying your preferred way of living. I have worked with clients who work in the caring professions such as education, healthcare, and nonprofits, as well as clients navigating all aspects of their sexual and gender identities. After working to address the root causes of some of the challenges we face, I want to help people process their lived experiences while also continuing larger scale work personally and professionally. As a result, I center a trauma- informed approach that recognizes the fact that we all carry our past traumas and difficult experiences with us.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all the experts of our own lives and able to grow throughout our lives. Often our mental health challenges are due to the oppressive structures that we are navigating, and we are all capable of finding joy within what we can control. Building a relationship and creating a space to identify your preferred way of living is my focus. I pull from training in various modalities including narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and compassion-based practices and mindfulness. By focusing on the therapeutic relationship, my approach is in line with best practices which indicates that the client-therapist relationship is a higher indicator of client success and post-traumatic growth than specific modalities.
